hey can someone reply? i was wondering how long a nose piercing can stay in? meaning like, can it be a piercing that you can have forever after it heals? or is it more of a temporary piercing?

Basically anything that involves simply clamping an flap of skin and peircing it (nose earlobe, tongue, lip ets) is permanent, you can have it forever so long as you look after it. Anything that involves pulling skin up to be peirced (navel, nipple, surface, eyebrow etc) is at risk of "growing out" this is where the skin has been pulled so tightly around the bar that it slowly rips and will eventually tear completely. this takes a long time and may not even happen in some cases.

A nose piercing is like any other piercing. Once it is pierced you have the option to keep it forever. If you do want to keep it forever you need to care for it, clean it, and don't let it close up. Any piercing can close up no matter how long you've had it.

It shouldn't hurt when it's healed. I have had my nose done for over a year, and it doesn't hurt at all. If you've only had it for about a month, it still will hurt...Get used to it :P

it shouldnt hurt, unless you have a nosebone jewelry. it stretches the hole a little and the best thing is to clip it off with fx a nailclipper.

@mcrlover4life424 if it hurts, it means it's not healed yet so don't take it off.
It takes 4-8 weeks for a nose piercing to heal.

Hey, im getting mine done within the next week or so and i was wondering if my coach would see it clearly cause i start cheer june 21 and she hates piercings and were not allowed to have them. and is there flat ones? i think the ball is obvious....and can u start with a retained. thanks.
